Planning for September: update #8
I'm on track with everything I planned so far. The MVP for my flagship micro-SaaS is live, and I just did a final sanity check on the site before going all out on content marketing and SEO. Until recently, I didn't even have a marketing plan.
Now I do. I'm taking detailed notes, planning like I'm playing chess. I like being overprepared, especially with two weeks of runway ahead of schedule.
What's my plan for August?
Mostly preparation and writing.
First is getting a handful of people into the docs editor beta, in exchange for lifetime access. Early feedback is going to help me catch critical bugs, nice-to-haves, or missing features I can plan into future development.
At the same time, I'm building a content plan with topical clusters, aiming to write at least six to twelve pieces to fill out the "corporate blog" for my SaaS product.
I've already been going back and forth with Gemini on how to address multiple target audiences, but that's a separate blog post.
I also started dabbling in building the first native Mac app for the product, which is deeply uncomfortable. I've never touched Xcode, let alone know how Swift works, and now I'm supposed to fucking build something real with it.
On the podcast side, I'm planning journal content, doing a bit of a YouTube overhaul (creative and thumbnails), and mapping out at least twenty topics for my short diary.

That's separate from Echo Room, which also launches in September. I'm setting that aside until the start of September, so I don't get distracted.
There's also the batshit crazy challenge of hitting $168 million, which I think is a great hook to pull in readers and followers. Anyone who's read this blog so far knows nothing here is glorified. I'm not pretending any of this is easy, even for seasoned entrepreneurs.

And I can't ignore Study Brew, formerly Story Brew. I'm planning to start recording bedtime stories and regular stories for English B1-B2 learners again, and I need a day in August to map out new stories, build a timeline, and get enough topics and scripts ready to record on the fly.

I also want to overhaul the Study Brew site a bit and start building the language learning app, once the docs editor beta is fully rolled out. That's another separate post.
What else?
The biggest shock, of course, is my road to $168 million, which now has its own tracker and category. But I also want to expand my personal blog a bit. Just updates alone might get too boring at times.
I've started pulling questions and topics from Reddit, Quora, and other places- ones I feel I can give a short answer to. Longer than a Reddit comment, shorter than an entire essay.
That's why I added an "Opinion" category to my personal blog. It lets me balance the journal entries with takes on questions I find in places like Reddit, which I think adds real value here and makes the blog easier to sustain long-term.
Final note
I need to focus more on health. My sleep hasn't been great lately. I feel better mentally, but the honeymoon phase of vibecoding and finally having direction probably cost me some sleep.
And I have to blame my cat too. He's been more anxious lately and keeps waking me up at impossible hours.
So that's where things stand. Two weeks ahead, a beta about to open up, a Mac app I have no business building yet, and a cat who doesn't care about any of it.
The last two weeks of August are for planning and writing, then September gets to be the month everything ships.
